A central goal of the program is to help students understand how their actions impact the environment and develop lifelong habits that support the protection and responsible enjoyment of natural spaces. Moreover, through hands-on experiences in natural settings, students will have opportunities to explore and connect with the environment around them, work collaboratively, overcome challenges, and build confidence in unfamiliar outdoor situations.
We are excited to say that we have had overwhelming interest from our student body for this program with 111 students signing up for the Spring 2027 semester alone, as well as, overwhelming support from our community. Through a fundraiser our PTA was able to raise additional funds to supplement the Nature’s Next Stewards grant and help purchase necessary equipment to ensure a durable baseline and launch to the program.

for supporting Bell Middle School’s new Outdoor Education program through the Nature’s Next Stewards Grant. As a teacher, I’m incredibly excited about the opportunity to get our students outside, teach them practical skills, and help them build a genuine connection with our natural world. Although we had to delay the program until spring 2027, having 111 students sign up shows just how much excitement and interest there is. Your support is helping turn this idea into a real program, and I truly appreciate your belief in our students and what we are trying to build at Bell.
