Secretary

Janet Shangraw

Janet is a recently-retired surface water hydrologist with a degree in surface water hydrology from CSU and over 40 years of experience that focused on Environmental Impact Studies across the mountain west. She grew up in Jefferson County and, together with her husband, raised a son and daughter who also value outdoor lifestyles. Whether it’s daily hiking in Open Space Parks, skiing in Winter Park, or gardening, Janet prefers to be outdoors. Janet’s love for the outdoors has led her to become an active volunteer in Jefferson County. She has been a Jeffco Open Space Advisory Committee Member since 2013 and joined the Jeffco Outdoors Foundation in 2016. Janet has also served as a Foothills Park and Recreation District Board member for 11 years where she worked to enhance the community’s access to outdoor recreational activities.

Vice President

Mark Hendrickson

Born and raised in Minnesota, he graduated from the University of Minnesota where he studied Mechanical Engineering. Currently, Mark lives in Evergreen with his wife, Christine, two sons, two dogs and four cats. Beyond spending time recreating in Colorado’s backcountry, Mark’s hobbies include playing drums, coaching football and instructing VOC (Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado) trail Crew Leaders. Mark is excited to support JCOSF because of his shared mission to connect people with the outdoors and preserve nature.

Treasurer

Kirstin Litz

Kirstin is a Senior Technical Project Manager with a Master of Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. She was born and raised in Colorado with a great love of the mountains and its fresh air. Currently she is splitting her time between Lakewood, Colorado and Pleasanton, California. Her dog seems to like Colorado better because it has snow, not rain. When she is not working you can find her volunteering. Her goal is to visit all the Jefferson County Open Park and Recreation areas in the next 12 months. She is following in her father’s footsteps as the Foundation’s Treasurer.

At Large

Brittany Schoborg

Brittany grew up in the Columbine Valley of Jefferson County. Some of her first hikes were on Jeffco Open Space lands, where she now spends weekends introducing her two young kids to the outdoors. She has a background in land rights and business and studied Professional Land and Resource Management and Environmental Studies at Western Colorado University. She holds an MBA from the University of Montana. Brittany’s passion for the environment and her goal to have a strong sense of place in beautiful Jefferson County has led her to helping others create connections to its outdoor spaces. She previously served on the City of Littleton Museum Board and works professionally at Xcel Energy as a Project Manager.  Brittany is a birder, cross-country skier, snowboarder, and avid reader, and is stoked to help further the goals of JCOSF and see land preserved and enjoyed for future generations.

Supporting the Jeffco Open Space Foundation preserves public lands and adds to the legacy of access for all.
