On June 3, 2023, Jeffco Open Space’s annual National Trails Day project at Elk Meadows Park attracted 70 volunteers.
Their work continued the expansion of usable trails within the park, which creates more options for visitors experiencing disabilities. Participants also focused on removing noxious weeds and light trail maintenance.
Commissioners Dahlkemper and Kerr stopped by to thank everyone for their efforts. JCOS Trails and Natural Resources Teams provided great leadership and care for the volunteers, and the Ranger and Park Services Teams assisted with parking. It was another great day in the park!
