Jeffco Open Space Foundation is proud to announce the creation of the Litz Scholarship, dedicated to supporting the next generation of environmental stewards.

We believe the future health of our shared public lands, open spaces, and vital natural ecosystems depends on passionate and well-educated professionals. This scholarship is intended to help students committed to these fields achieve their educational goals.

Available Awards

We will be awarding four (4) scholarships, each valued at $2500.

Eligibility & Focus

Jefferson County residents with a 3.25 minimum GPA and community service experience who plan to work in natural resource fields should complete the application and submit a letter of reference.

This scholarship is geared for students currently pursuing or planning to purse a degree in fields directly related to the following:

  • Public Lands Management (e.g., Parks, Forestry, Recreation)
  • Environmental Science & Ecology
  • Conservation & Natural Resource Management
  • Environmental Policy or Law focused on land use and preservation
  • Other closely related disciplines focused on protecting and sustaining natural ecosystems and open spaces

 

Deadline

The deadline for all application materials in March 1, 2026.
